Well, this movie looks...interesting.
A new three-minute extended trailer for Michael Keaton's new film Birdman has hit the web and we can't help but notice it looks a little familiar (see Fox Searchlight's exceptional 2010 film Black Swan, which won star Natalie Portman an Oscar for Best Actress).
In the flick, Keaton plays a washed-up actor who once played the iconic superhero Birdman (see the similarity to Keaton's real life starring role as Batman?). Like Portman's ballerina in Black Swan, Keaton's character goes a bit nuts while preparing for a starring role on Broadway (an attempt to regain fame on his part).
Unlike Black Swan, Birdman (which was directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu) looks even crazier and weirder when it comes to the plot and delusional main character. Here are a few other things that look a bit bizarre in the newly released trailer.
The Birdman trailer begins with Keaton levitating in his underwear. OK...
Emma Stone, who plays his daughter, looks far less pretty than we like our Emma Stone to look (notice the coincidental bird tattoos on her shoulder).
Keaton's character has imaginary cazy person wings (again, see 2010's Black Swan).
Keaton runs through the streets in his underwear (if you see this movie, prepare for a lot of Michael Keaton tighty-whitey action).
