The Batkid rises!

Last November, leukemia survivor Miles Scott touched hearts around the country when he transformed into Batman for the day and saved Gotham for his Make-A-Wish Foundation dream wish.

Now, a new behind-the-scenes documentary about Miles' special day is in the works! The inspirational first trailer debuted at Comic-Con over the weekend and features interviews with Batkid's parents and others who helped put together the imaginative event.

"He's always liked all superheroes, but he always comes back to Batman. It was his first love," dad Nick Scott says in the clip.

"One of his doctors told us that with this disease they just become like a fighter. They have to be," he continues. "They fight for life, so I think he sees the good-versus-evil battle in superheroes and just relates to it."

Thousands cheered on the adorable mini-Caped Crusader as he rode around San Francisco in his very own Batmobile, battled villains like The Riddler and The Penguin and received a key to the city from the mayor!

Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice star Ben Affleck even tweeted about the brave 5-year-old, calling him the "best Batman ever."

"In helping him to live this dream, we were saving ourselves," Mashable deputy editor Chris Taylor says in the trailer. "We wonder why we're not happy a lot of the time, and it's because we forget this sort of thing. But here was an event that forced us to remember."

Director Dana Nachman and the project's team still need help to complete the documentary. So far, over $48,000 has been raised towards the $100,000 goal, with 22 days left in the campaign. If you'd like to contribute to Miles' film, visit Indiegogo!
