A new trailer was recently released for an unfinished documentary about a scrapped Nicolas Cage Superman movie that never made it to the big screen.

In an attempt to raise money to finish the full-length documentary, filmmakers of The Death of Superman Lives: What Happened? released a 2:45 clip about the 1990s flick Superman Lives, which was canceled and never made into a feature film.

The new trailer, which was made by filmmaker Jon Schnepp, features footage of Cage in a very unique Superman suit as well as interviews with Superman Lives screenplay writer Kevin Smith and director Tim Burton.

"Six more months before we see Ben Affleck in the Batsuit, but you can get an early look at a story about Superman that might have been," Smith says in the clip, later adding, "Now when you think about it, if somebody was like, 'Would you like to see a Nic Cage Superman movie?' I'd be like, ‘F--k! And yes.'"

Other Superman Lives crewmembers who appear in the trailer to tell their stories about the failed film include producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, production designer Rick Heinrichs, screenwriter Wesley Strick, costume designer Colleen Atwood, special effects supervisor Steve Johnson, storyboard artist Tim Burgard and associate producer Derek Frey.
