It may have been 10 years since Mean Girls entered our hearts forever (can you believe it?!), but the movie continues to be a topic of discussion.

Such was the case when Allure magazine conducted an interview with their fresh-faced cover star for their August issue, Rachel McAdams, who played the obnoxious but amazing Regina George in the film and was also the center of rumors surrounded what it was like on set.

Apparently, reports claimed LiLo was intimidated by McAdams while shooting the iconic film—but The Notebook star found that kind of funny seeing how she was the one "in awe."

"If anything, I was in awe of her talent," McAdams told the mag. "I looked at her as this experienced actor, and she had great comedic timing, so natural. It's just funny to hear that because you never know what people are thinking. We all try to act like we've got it together."

And how can we forget the star's big screen debut in The Hot Chick? "I remember standing backstage, dressed like a mechanic. I had a pink bikini on underneath, grease on my face, and I just remember breathing deep and thinking, 'Oh, my God, I have to go out there and do this striptease, as a man…as a woman. How did I get here?' It was probably one of the scariest moments I've had in my career. It stretched me in ways I could have never imagined. Literally."

But that seems the be exactly the way McAdams sees her career pan out (not the striptease roles, but the more interesting aspects of it). "I'm hoping it's going to be complicated and have lots of dead ends and corners and sharp turns. I hope it can't be summed up too easily when I'm done," she says.

The August issue of Allure is on sale July 29.
