Earlier today, the 53-year-old comedian, whose reality show Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List won her two Emmy awards for Outstanding Reality Program, took to Twitter to share a photo of one of her trophies lying on the ground in two pieces.
"Well @JeffProbst came over last night and broke my Emmy! #Survivor #Appalled," the captioned the pic of her golden Emmy with the globe detached from the statue's body.
Oops! Griffin isn't the first award winner whose trophy has suffered some damage. Here are a few other celebs with damaged hardware.
Shortly after taking home his Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in March, Jared Leto revealed, "I damaged it. But then I came home and saw it had another nick on it. So it looks like someone else had fun with it, too. My Oscar is a filthy mess. Everybody was pawing that thing. I kind of was just passing it around at parties. A couple of times I lost sight of it and I thought, 'You know, if it goes away, it's not meant to be mine.' But it always seemed to find its way back to me."
At the 2012 Emmys, after winning her second award for Modern Family, Julie Bowen told reporters just where she planned to put her new hardware: "High out of the reach of my son, Oliver, who broke the last one."
Both of Cheryl Burke's disco ball trophies from her Dancing With the Stars wins with Drew Lachey and Emmitt Smith broke! "The words Dancing With the Stars broke on one of them, and the mirrors fell off the other," her rep told E! News.
After Shawn Johnson's DWTS win, she told us of her trophy, "It's actually in pieces right now. We had to take them to New York and they shipped them back and when they opened the box, they were in pieces. They're fixing them."
