Oscar Pistorius was involved in a heated verbal fight with an angry man over the weekend.

During a night out at VIP Nightclub Sandton in Johannesburg, South Africa on Saturday, the Olympian, who's currently on trial for the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steencamp, got into a war of words with one rowdy club-goer.

"We can confirm that Oscar was at the said venue [VIP Rooms, Sandton] with one of his cousins," Pistorius' rep Annalise Burgess told NBC News today. "They sat in a quiet booth in the VIP section when they were approached by an individual who has now been identified as [Jared] Mortimer."

Burgess goes on, "The individual, according to my client, started to aggressively interrogate him on matters relating to the trial. An argument ensued during which my client asked to be left alone. Oscar soon thereafter left the club with his cousin. My client regrets the decision to go to a public space and thereby inviting unwelcome attention."

Pistorius' bar fight comes at the same time that he decided to break his Twitter silence. Pistorius shared various inspirational messages over the weekend. One prayer read, "Lord, today I ask that that you bathe those who live in pain in the river of your healing. Amen."

Another longer passage read in part, "The salvation of a man is through love and in love. I understood how a man who has nothing left in this world still may know bliss, be it only for a brief moment, in the contemplation of his beloved. In a position of utter desolation, when man cannot express himself in positive action, when his only achievement may consist in enduring his sufferings in the right way—an honorable way—in such a position man can, through loving contemplation of the image he carries of his beloved, achieve fulfillment."

Pistorius' murder trial is currently adjourned until Aug. 7 after the defense closed its case last week.
