Derek Jeter may still be in the middle of his final season, but tributes to the New York Yankees star have already begun.

Jordan Brand, the Nike subsidiary that has been a longtime sponsor of Jeter, released a star-studded ad titled "RE2PECT" featuring some of the most famous names in the sports world.

Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, Knicks president Phil Jackson and forward Carmelo Anthony were just among some of the famous faces who tipped their hat to the Yankee captain.

Spike Lee was also shown in the stands honoring Jeter in the poignant commercial, and Jay Z was seen doing the same from behind a desk in his office.

New York City policemen and fireman, Red Sox fans, and even some blurred-out Mets players all gave the famous baseball player a final farewell before his last game.

Earlier this year, Jeter announced that the season would be his last and that he was ready "for the next chapter."

The 40-year-old, who has spent his entire career in pinstripes, shared a heartfelt message on his Facebook account which began with a simple message: thank you.

"I know they say that when you dream you eventually wake up," the five-time World Champion wrote.

"Well, for some reason, I've never had to wake up. Not just because of my time as a New York Yankee but also because I am living my dream every single day…The one thing I always said to myself was that when baseball started to feel more like a job, it would be time to move forward."
