Selena Gomez is at it again. Well, on Instagram, that is.
The 21-year-old pop star took to the photo-sharing site on Monday to post a number of cryptic messages, including a text which has led many fans to speculate that the brunette beauty may be hinting at her relationship status with Justin Bieber.
But first, let's back track a bit.
Gomez began by sharing a pensive video of herself playing a soft tune on the piano which she captioned, "I don't know. I'm on my way you know."
She then seemingly posted an upside-down screengrab of the video clip, highlighting the inspirational messages from her fans. "You're always listened to," she wrote.
Shortly after, she shared a moody selfie at the beach with the caption, "and usually always right," before she posted a text message from an unknown sender which read, "I just want to give you a hug and remind you how special you are."
The caption? "That's who you wanna wake up to. #promise."
Gomez's followers immediately began speculating that the text was from none other than the singer's on-again-off-again boyfriend Justin Bieber, who, as sources told us last month was very much back together with the brunette beauty.
"She still loves him," the source said. "It is hard for her to get over him because they have so much history."
"You just can't drop those feelings," the insider added. "There is too much there."
In fact, a second source recently revealed that the Biebs is even scheduled to attend Gomez's 22nd birthday bash on July 22, despite her pals' disapproval of the 20-year-old pop star's presence.
"No one wants [Bieber] to go. All her friends want him out of the picture and just want her to have a relaxing birthday with no trouble and they think he's going to dominate her attention," a source told E! News.
"She doesn't seem to care that he spends time with other women and isn't always honest with her. She's hypnotized. Her friends just want her to enjoy herself for her birthday, but if Justin attends it might complicate matters."
This certainly isn't the first time Gomez has taken to Instagram to share her emotions in headline-making fashion. Just last week, she posted a selfie with a cryptic message about class and confidence on the heels of the Biebs' nearly nude Instagram.
And back in April, she shared a number of moody snaps along with the lyrics to Mary J. Blige's "Work In Progress," in addition to unfollowing everyone on the photo-sharing site (she is now following a total of four people and no, that doesn't include Bieber).
The Biebs most recently attended the wedding of Scooter Braun, where Gomez was noticeably absent as his date.
No telling whether these two are still going strong.
