Paul McCartney Returns to the Stage After Illness & Helps 64-Year-Old Fan Propose to His Girlfriend!

The couple had issued a "dare" to the former Beatles icon

Sir Paul McCartney returned to the stage recently after postponing tour dates due to an illness and pulled a Justin Timberlake!

At a concert in Albany, New York on Saturday, July 5, the 72-year-old former Beatles singer and music icon gave the spotlight to 64-year-old John Dann.

He got up on stage, sang part of the 1967 Beatles song "When I'm Sixty-Four" and then proposed to girlfriend Claudia Rodgers in front of about 13,000 people, according to Rochester, New York-based newspaper The Democrat & Chronicle. She said yes!

The couple had beforehand stood not far from the stage and held signs that read "He won't marry me 'til he meets you" and "I have the ring and I'm 64," the newspaper reported.

"And they booked us for the wedding," joked McCartney, according to The Poukeepskie Journal

This marked McCarthey's first concert since he canceled part of his current tour in May on a doctor's orders, after contracting a virus. Several of his concerts have been rescheduled.

Timberlake had also helped a man propose to his girlfriend at one of his concerts, back in December.
