Alas, the US soccer team has come to the end of its run in the 2014 World Cup.
Despite making a goal when all hope was lost, and U.S. Goalkeeper Tim Howard proving yet again that he is a boss when it comes to protecting that net (he made 16 saves during today's game), Team U.S.A. lost to Belgium 2-1 in extra time in their World Cup match Tuesday at the Arena Fonte Nova in Salvador, Brazil.
However, Americans did win something today. And by Americans, we specifically mean Tom Hanks and his family, who, in our opinion, win the World Cup of viewing parties for a photo the actor posted on his WhoSay page. "Oh yes. We are watching! US of A! Go! Hanx's," the celeb captioned the funny snapshot of his brood anxiously watching the game.
Of course, Hanks and his fam-bam weren't the only ones to surrender to social media for all of their World Cup outbursts about the nail-biting game and unfortunate loss...
Yes, It was a loss but USA you fucking killed it just now. Thought I would remind you of that. #WorldCup

If you wanted America to win, maybe you should have rooted for them better, or worn your lucky hat, or prayed more. It?s your fault. #USA
