If you love a truly gorgeous updo then you're probably already a fan of Marcus Francis' work. As Suave Professionals' celebrity hairstylist he has created some truly breathtaking red carpet looks over the years. Some highlights? How about Kirsten Dunst's crystal-embellished twists, Kerry Washington's perfectly chic faux bob or Jessica Pare's oversized ballerina bun at the 2014 Met Gala. It should be noted that he's also got some serious skills when it comes to making bombshell waves on Amy Adams, Lizzy Caplan and Taylor Schilling.

He has plenty more amazing moments but don't take it from us—hear all about Marcus' decade plus in Hollywood straight from the mane man himself:

How long have you been a hairstylist?
12 years.

Where did you get your start?
I went to beauty school at Moro Beauty College in Glendale, CA. I assisted a colorist at a salon for two years then a stylist for one year in West Hollywood. After a few years at the salon, I began working with the shows in fashion week in New York, Milan, and Paris with Guido. My curiosity for being a part of Hollywood began assisting other celebrity hairstylists on photo shoots. Soon thereafter, I was on my own doing actresses for press, events and photo shoots.

What was your big break?
Working with Salma Hayek at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival.

What was a near-fiasco that you've had to deal with?
My client was still waiting for her dress to arrive and I was working on a hairstyle that would be perfect for it. Well, when it arrived an hour before she had to leave, the dress wasn't tailored properly and was too small in some places, and too loose in others. After spending an hour trying on other dress options while hair and makeup had to stop, the look had completely changed and we had five minutes to complete an entirely new look—all while makeup and nails we're being done and the dress was being hemmed as she had it on!
