Kitchen Nightmares, Gordon Ramsay

The kitchen is closed. For good.

Kitchen Nightmares is set to end after a seven-season run on Fox, Gordon Ramsay announced on his official website on Monday. While Fox had no comment on the series' end, the celebrity chef and fan favorite TV personality wrote, "As filming comes to a close on the latest series of Kitchen Nightmares I've decided to stop making the show...It's been a blast but it's time to call it a day."

After debuting in the U.K. in 2004, Ramsay brought Kitchen Nightmares, which he credited for "really propelled my TV career," to the United States in 2007. "During this time I've visited over 100 restaurants, meeting and trying to help or in some cases failing to help, some of the most weird and wonderful people," Ramsay wrote of his time on the series.

Still, Ramsay fans needn't worry about no longer being able to watch the outspoken chef harshly critique aspiring cooks and restaurant owners as he still has four other Fox series on the air. MasterChef is currently airing its fifth season, while Hell's Kitchen is in the midst of Season 12. Plus, MasterChef Junior is set to kick off its second season, while Hotel Hell returns on July 21. (All Ramsay, all the time!)

Ramsay ended his retirement announcement by thanking Kitchen Nightmares' fans, writing, "I'm glad I've been able to entertain and hopefully help a few people along the way. It's sad to say goodbye to Kitchen Nightmares but I'll be continuing with my other shows. It's been memorable!"

Since beginning the show in 2004, Ramsay has shot 123 episodes.
