Jennifer Lopez's life may look glamorous, but it's not always so picture-perfect.

Since 1997, Lopez has been married to three different men (and engaged to one more), birthed two children, starred in movies and topped the musical charts. At the same time, she's also endured several personal struggles. "Everyone goes through challenges and the most important thing you can do is to learn and grow from each of them," she tells SoulCycle. "I've had my own personal challenges, but I've walked away from them with a new sense of perspective and that's where I find my greatest strength."

Lopez doesn't mention recent ex-boyfriend Casper Smart directly, but the single-again singer says the best advice she ever received was to trust her instincts. "You know yourself best," the actress reasons.

As the expression goes, hindsight is 20/20!

What advice would Lopez give to her 20-year-old self? "I would tell her to follow her gut," she says, "because everything always works out in the end." Though she's endured heartbreaks and professional setbacks, as all people do, Lopez reminds herself how lucky she is through daily affirmations. "I always try to channel any negative energy and turn it into something positive," the American Idol judge says.

How does the "I Luh Ya Papi" singer like to spend her downtime? "I'm constantly busy working," Lopez says, "so when I do get time off, I like to relax and spend time with my kids, my family, and my friends."
