Barbara Walters has been married to three men four different times—a fifth marriage isn't improbable!

The retired TV journalist stopped by NBC's The Tonight Show Wednesday, where she opened up about her celebrity crush Clint Eastwood. By Walters' own admission, the movie star is the one who got away.

"This is a sad love story," she said. "I did this interview with Clint Eastwood something like 30 years ago, and he was very flirtatious and I was very taken, and he asked me if I wanted to have dinner...I said, 'No, I have to work.' You know, I don't mix business with pleasure. I could've been Mrs. Clint Eastwood!"

Host Jimmy Fallon then showed a clip of Eastwood flirting with Walters on TV. The single octogenarian noted that both she and Eastwood have "gotten married and divorced" since that interview took place.

"The other night was the opening of Jersey Boys...and I thought, 'Maybe! Maybe it's not too late!' I'm not kidding. I really did," she admitted. "I got the right outfit, the false eyelashes, the whole thing." Walters reached out to a friend who arranged for her to sit next to Eastwood inside the movie theater.

Walters called the set-up her "big chance" to actor-turned-director's eye. "He was...polite," she said, sounding dejected. "He was courteous. What's that expression? He was just not into me...I'm still crying about it," Walters said. "The sad thing is—I wasn't kidding—I really thought maybe, you know..."
