A number of Twitter users got their 15 minutes of fame after their "mean tweets" were read aloud on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Wednesday. Celebrities including Ashton Kutcher, Matthew McConaughey, Julia Roberts, Emma Stone and Sofía Vergara participated in the seventh installment, and in some instances, even fired back at the trolls who trashed them online. Instead of feeling embarrassed for spreading negativity, however, the users seemed to relish the attention their "mean tweets" received.

Some users had just a few followers, and some tweets were several years old. Let that be a lesson that nothing on the internet ever really goes away—and when something's made public, anyone can see it.
