Being married to Jennifer Aniston is the dream of many, but not Tim Robbins. Or at least, Robbins' character.

The two A-listers star in the upcoming dark comedy Life of Crime, based on Elmore Leonard's crime novel The Switch. Aniston plays Mickey Dawson, the wife of a corrupt real estate developer (Robbins) who gets kidnapped by two common criminals.

But when the kidnappers contact her hubby in an effort to extort him with inside information about his crooked business and off-shore accounts, they are sorely disappointed.

Because he doesn't want her, anyway!

Robbins' character, who is vacationing with his mistress (Isla Fisher) during the kidnapping, decides he'd actually rather not pay the ransom to get his wife back. Poor Jen!

However, things take a turn when Fisher's character decides to help the criminals out. Dun, dun, dun...

"It was just about really understanding internal abandonment that she was feeling in her marriage and also the abandonment of her own self in this sort of passionless, loveless life that she was living with no communication," Aniston said of her character during the film's press conference in Toronto late last year. "It was really about getting really small and sort of numb."

Life of Crime, which also stars John Hawkes, Mos Def, Will Forte and Mark Boone Junior, hits theaters August 29.
