Donald Trump apparently still has a bone to pick with Rosie O'Donnell and Barbara Walters, but this time, the feisty talk-show mavens aren't biting.
Given the opportunity to tear into Trump yet again, O'Donnell took a pass on Tuesday morning's episode of The View, refusing to weigh in when cohost Joy Behar brought up the latest adventures in the Miss USA universe.
Upon learning that Miss New Jersey USA Ashley Harder will be stepping down because she's pregnant—it's against Miss USA rules to compete while expecting—O'Donnell told the audience that she wasn't going to get involved.
"That's smart, Rosie," Walters said.
Last Wednesday, the longtime ABC newswoman attempted to put a stop to the ongoing feud that arose last month when O'Donnell called Trump a "hypocrite" for acting as the "moral compass" in the decision to give Miss USA Tara Conner a free pass.
Walters herself eventually got sucked into the conflict, with Trump claiming that she was unhappy with her decision to bring O'Donnell on board her a.m. chat fest and Walters denying she felt any such way.
Of course, Walters calling Trump a "poor, pathetic man" on national television last week wasn't exactly going to appease The Apprentice honcho, who saw the sixth-season premiere of his onetime hit reality series attract 9.1 million viewers, a six percent drop-off from last season, while The View's ratings increased 27 percent from the same time in 2005 amid all the controversy.
Meanwhile, even a Trump-centric event such as the Donald receiving the 2,327th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Tuesday couldn't stop the real-estate mogul from adding fuel to the fire.
Talking to E! News anchor and KIIS-FM morning host Ryan Seacrest about Walter's comment last week, Trump called the move "pathetic."
"She read that looking down at her notes, and she got a lot worse PR on that one than I did," he said. "Rosie caught her off-guard, and Barbara didn't know what she's supposed to say...you know, you'd call it a very poor performance, but it wasn't that. She was scared stiff."
Suggesting that either O'Donnell or the show's producers told Walters what to say, Trump said, "Barbara comes off looking like a puppet and Rosie's pulling her strings."
