Don't believe everything you read, obviously.

A rumor ran rampant on Tuesday that Solange Knowles actually went jewelry shopping with Jay-Z that day in New York City.

Naturally, such speculation got folks buzzing seeing how the excursion supposedly happened after a surveillance video was released showing Beyoncé's younger sister allegedly attacking her brother-in-law during an elevator fight on the night of last week's 2014 Met Gala.

Well, on her show Wednesday, Wendy Williams said she personally spoke to Mr. Flawless, the owner of the jewelry shop in question, who told her that the TMZ report of Solange and Jay Z coming into his store was simply not true. However, Floyd Mayweather Jr. did stop in that day.

Mr. Flawless also told E! News, "I have no idea where this story came from. I don't talk about clients, but they were not here. It's absolutely false."

His associate added, "We don't sell gossip, we sell watches."

Meanwhile, Beyoncé took to Instagram on Wednesday and posted four sweet, happy throwback photos of herself with Solange.

The decision to share the shots comes just one day after her sister actually deleted all but one picture of the "XO" singer from her Instagram account.

The elevator brawl occurred the night of May 5 at The Standard Hotel in NYC. After the footage leaked on Monday, the hotel vowed to investigate the security breach.

"We are shocked and disappointed that there was a clear breach of our security system and the confidentiality that we count on providing our guests," the hotel said in a statement obtained by E! News. "We are investigating with the utmost urgency the circumstances surrounding the situation and, as is our customary practice, will discipline and prosecute the individuals involved to our fullest capacity."
