Fox Teases Simpsons-Family Guy Crossover Episode: Homer Simpson and Peter Griffin Throw Down

Animation Domination will never be the same!
After years of playful and sometimes pointed swats at the other from the comfort of their respective timeslots, The Simpsons will finally join forces with Family Guy for a crossover episode, to air in September.
Fox teased the first footage of what will surely be a hugely anticipated television event at its upfront presentation today in New York.
The teaser included Bart Simpson and Stewie Griffin skateboarding, as well as a confrontation between Homer Simpson and Peter Griffin, which results in one head-of-the-household punching out the other in the street.

While this is the first fully interwoven showdown between the two network peers, truces have been called before.
Seth MacFarlane guest-starred on The Simpsons, providing the voice of a man who tried to steal Marge away from Homer. And on an episode of Family Guy, a cast of familiar Springfield faces sat in judgment of Peter, Quagmire, Joe and Cleveland.
"Well, at least they're a jury of our peers," Peter says, to which Joe adds, "I don't think they see it that way, Peter."
In another episode, Mayor West got in on the action, protesting, "We don't want you in our town, Simpson. We don't love you like we did in 1993."
And so the barbs continue! Excellent...
We can't wait to see how far Seth and Simpsons creator Matt Groening are willing to go to let each other's cultural touchstone have it!
