Matt Bomer isn't type to parade his personal life out for the press.

It was only last month that he revealed he's actually been married to Hollywood power publicist Simon Halls for three years! And now, in an interview with Out's June-July issue, the 36-year-old White Collar hunk is opening up for the first time about his 2011 wedding.

"It was very chill. Very small—only our nearest and dearest," he says. "There's a security, a validity of knowing that it's legal. It's hard to put into words. It's just a feeling, I guess—something about saying vows in front the people around you who love and support you. I think it was good for our family."

Matt and Simon are the proud parents of three kids: Kit, Walker and Henry. The actor says he "felt a responsibility" to all of them to be out and "able to live with integrity and not have some strange split psychology of This is who my dad is at home, and this is who he is to the public."

"That trumped any type of professional repercussions that it could have had," he tells Out.

The former Fifty Shades of Grey fan favorite says that "not by my own volition or choice" he's "been playing exclusively straight characters for the first 10 years of my career."

And now? "Whatever happens from this point on says a lot more about the business and society," he says, "than it does about me."
