Elizabeth Hurley has repeatedly been seen in recent months without her engagement ring, but only now has the 48-year-old actress opened up about her split from Shane Warne.

"We finally parted ways in November [2013] and it was a very sad time for both of us," Hurley says in the latest issue of Hello!. "I struggled for a while, but feel in a very good place today. In fact, both professionally and personally everything is blooming."

But despite the breakup, the brunette beauty insists she still cares for the 44-year-old former Australian cricketer.

"Love isn't a switch that you can turn on or off at will and of course I still love him—we are part of each other's history," Hurley tells the magazine.

The swimwear designer and Warne had been engaged since October 2011. The pretty pair was last seen photographed together during a joint appearance at a Queenspark breakfast to celebrate the brand's summer collection on Nov. 8.

Since the split, Hurley has been romantically linked to hedge fund tycoon-turned-wildlife photographer David Yarrow, whom she describes as a "man of integrity and charm and who, incidentally, cooks roast potatoes to rival those of my father."

Meanwhile, it was announced back in March that Hurley will be starring in The Royals, E!'s first original scripted series.

The Royals will follow a modern-day royal family as they live life in the public eye. Hurley plays Queen Helena, described as a woman who has the power, beauty and intelligence to get what she wants. She's keen on controlling the public image of her famous family.

A 2015 premiere date is in the works.
