The Simpsons has hit the blocks running.

Not being able to avoid the global love for the the plastic Danish-born playthings any longer, the Simpson family have been transformed into Legos for Sunday's episode, "Brick Like Me."

And since there is already a Simpsons Lego shop out there, we wonder what took even this long!

The episode is notably not of the stop-action CGI hybrid recently employed by the blockbuster The Lego Movie and actually sort of bears a resemblance to the even-older-school animation in the show's earlier seasons, when Homer's head was pointier and Marge's voice was even huskier.

"Is it just me, or does something seem weird today?" wonders Lego-Bart in a sneak peek at Sunday's show, which also features The Simpsons' normal look in Homer's hallucinations (or are they?) of an alternate universe where "nothing is made of bricks except for toys."

"You're right, something is different about the Simpsons today," Marge admits. "Your father's wearing a tie!"

A tie that's painted right onto his plastic shirt!

And all of the usual suspects—Comic Book Guy, Grandpa Simpson, Krusty and more—have been transformed into Legos as well for the occasion.

We can't wait to see the action unfold in a more angular fashion.
