Happy 3rd anniversary, Prince William and Kate Middleton!

Believe it or not, the couple's royal wedding was three years ago today (Apr. 29, 2011). The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge tied the knot in a gorgeous ceremony at Westminster Abbey in London in front of their family, friends and the rest of the world watching.

So how did Will and Kate celebrate their special day? A palace source tells E! News, "They just spent the day privately."

As they should.

We bet Will and Kate are enjoying some rest and relaxation with baby son Prince George. The trio only returned home from their three-week tour of New Zealand and Australia several days ago. It's understandable they'd opt for a low-key celebration rather than a big event.

Will is also scheduled to head overseas again this weekend. The Duke and Prince Harry will reportedly attend the wedding of their pal Guy Pelly on Saturday in Memphis. Kate and George are expected to remain home in England.

Enjoy your big day, Will and Kate!
