Justin Bieber clearly isn't letting a little thing like being detained bring him down.

Shortly after the singer was allowed to leave Los Angeles International Airport, where he was held for nearly four hours by U.S. Customs yesterday, the 20-year-old Canadian pop star took to Twitter and wrote "Life is good. Keep it positive always."

He later added, "Everybody spread the love and positivity."

Bieber was detained on Thursday after touching down at LAX on an Air Singapore flight from Tokyo, where he had been seeing the sights and spending time with his mother, Pattie Mallette.

However, an airport spokesperson had no additional information regarding the situation. U.S. Customs and Border Protection told E! News that the agency cannot comment on an individual's processing due to privacy laws.

At around 6:20 p.m. on Thursday, Bieber was allowed to leave LAX. He walked out with four bodyguards, climbed into an SUV and was driven away.

While Bieber was seen smiling as he exited the airport, he had nothing to say to the throng of paparazzi assembled outside.

Reps for Bieber had no comment on the matter.
