You love who you love, and in the case of Katy Perry and John Mayer, you laugh when you laugh!
On Monday's Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the "Dark Horse" singer acknowledged her and Mayer's breakup, then jokingly lamented to a very eager superfan, "At least you have a boyfriend!"
The 29-year-old slime-haired beauty even feigned sadness for a moment after delivering the line, then smiled cheekily and giggled as the sketch moved along. It's the first time Perry has publicly acknowledged that she and Mayer, 36, called it quits back in February.
At the time, a source told E! News the Perry-Merry split might not be a permanent one, explaining that while the pair "both really love each other," they've "always been hot and cold and on and off."
Their grueling tour schedules could've also been partially to blame: Perry is booked solid from May to December on her world tour, while Mayer is on one of his own from April to June.
But Perry, who was in an on-off relationship with Mayer since the summer of 2012, has been doing a lot more than waiting on the world her man to change! As she previewed on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, she went undercover as "five of the world's worst birthday entertainers" for her "Birthday" music video.
And because she was just "sick of making gorgeous videos," Perry managed to de-sexify herself into an older "dancer" with sagging "golden nuggets," a mustachioed salesman and an incoherent and seemingly evil clown—just to name a few.
Definitely beats riding on a mechanical bull with your soon-to-be ex.
