Katy Perry is almost as known for her elaborate stage costumes as she is her hit songs, and she has friend and wardrobe stylist Johnny Wujek to thank for that. And now Wujeck is admitting the funny (and semi-awkward) way the two met.

"She hit on me at a party," Johnny told E! News. The only problem? He was not interested, as he is gay.

Apparently Katy and Johnny first met at a house party for fashion label Sass and Bide in Beverly Hills back in 2006, and Johnny immediately caught Katy's eye. But Johnny was actually more interested in Katy's guy friend, who was with her at the party.

Johnny revealed that Katy approached him and he explained to us how it all went down: "She said, 'are you on my team or on his?' and I said, 'his.'"

Of course, we know that the story doesn't end there. The two became not only friends, but started an amazing professional relationship that led to plenty of show-stopping costumes.

Had Katy and Johnny never met, the world wouldn't have Katy's memorable outfits, like her spinning peppermint candy bra or popcorn dress. So we're pretty glad she decided to hit on him that fateful day.
