Tony Hale wasn't expecting to see his Veep co-star Julia Louis-Dreyfus naked on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine.
"I remember talking to the lady who does her makeup and I was like, 'How was the Rolling Stone shoot?' And she said, 'You'll have to wait and see,' Hale told E! News last night at the launch party for Zooey Deschanel's new Tommy Hilfiger capsule collection, "To Tommy, From Zooey." "And now I see! She looks great!"
He also wondered about the copy of the preamble of the Constitution that appears on Louis-Dreyfus' back. "I'm curious how they got the tattoo on the back," Hale said. "That's a lot. Even painting that is a lot of work."
Funny enough, just a couple of hours before Hale and I chatted, it was revealed that Rolling Stone had unintentionally rewritten history because the tattoo included John Hancock's signature.
But he didn't sign the Constitution, he signed the Declaration of Independence in 1776.
"Hancock signed Dec. of Independence NOT Constitution.Yet another Mike f--k-up.Dummy.#veep #crackexcuse @VeepHBO @mrmattwalsh cc@rollingstone," Louis-Dreyfus tweeted, placing the blame on Veep's consistently unreliable communications director Mike McLintock, played by Matt Walsh.
Hale cracked, "Thank God she didn't say Gary. That would have been a problem."
