The bob is back!

Lea Michele had a different, albeit temporary, look on the set of Glee Wednesday, her long tresses tucked inside a bob-cut wig—but this of course isn't the first time the 27-year-old actress has donned this short, sleek hairstyle.

On the hit musical series her character Rachel has landed the role of Fanny Brice—the iconic early-20th-century star that Barbra Streisand played on Broadway and in the 1968 film adaptation of Funny Girl—and wears the short, Barbra-reminiscent 'do.

Hair today, gone tomorrow...usually.

But Michele may want to get used to this wig because Glee creator and executive producer Ryan Murphy has acquired the stage rights to Funny Girl and has said that Lea as Rachel Berry in the Funny Girl revival would be a "crowd pleaser."

According to a Teen Vogue cover story in which she was interviewed by her bestie and former Glee star Jonathan Groff, the Spring Awakening actress agrees and says that she "would love to go back to Broadway."

In a separate sit-down with Broadway World, the new author mentioned she had been in talks with Murphy to play the classic character.

"We are definitely talking about it now. We have the rights. And, right now, we are talking to some potential directors—we have someone really amazing in mind. We probably won't have the opportunity to do it for a while, though, because we still have a long time left on Glee. But, yes, you are right—Ryan does have the rights. And, when the time is right and I have had the chance to get some good rest for a while after Glee and I feel ready to do it then definitely we will do it."
