The Duggars are anything but your average family.

With a family of 19 children, two of whom have now entered a courtship with two handsome suitors, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar certainly have their hands full.

Viewers will soon get a glimpse into the lives of the larger-than-life clan when TLC's hit series 19 Kids and Counting returns to the small screen tonight at 9 p.m., and E! News has an exclusive first look at the premiere episode, which centers on Jessa Duggar's courtship with Ben Seewald.

So what exactly is a courtship and how is it different than the dating world? We'll let Michelle do the honor of explaining:

Jessa Duggar, Ben Seewald

"Some of the quick rules of courtship in the Duggar house would be no kissing or hand-holding, always chaperoned when on a date and really, hands off," the reality star says in the video. "For the most part, they're not physically getting to know each other, they're just trying to focus on the spiritual and emotional aspects of their relationship."

The family is shown gathering in a circle for prayer before Jim Bob puts Ben on the spot, telling him he has "a lot to be thankful for" as the courting couple smiles at one another.

"I guess the whole idea of courtship is something that's probably old-fashioned in a lot of people's minds," Jessa explains. "Saving your first kiss for marriage, always having a chaperone, those type of things, but for our family, it's something that we think is very important and helps you probably avoid maybe some heartache in some areas, so I think we're all on board with that."
