Admit it, the latest official portrait of Prince George is your new screensaver.

We can't blame you for thinking that the picture released Saturday of Kate Middleton and Prince William and the now 8-month-old royal baby is the cutest pic of the family yet, not least of which because the kid is gazing lovingly at the family dog, Lupo, instead of looking at the camera being wielded by photographer Jason Bell.

And not surprisingly, the provenance of the personalized powder blue jumper (or sweater, to us Yanks) that the little prince was wearing was an instant hot topic.

Some media outlets claimed to have cracked the case, but in response to reports that George was dressed in a cashmere sweater from Johnstons of Elgin, the Scotland-based clothier itself issued a denial.

Surely the wool and cashmere specialist would have loved to take credit if it was the supplier—they would have sold out in seconds!

But E! News has confirmed that the sweater was a present from George's granddad Prince Charles. Where he does his shopping (or has his staff do his shopping), we do not yet know.

Kate, meanwhile, wore a an silk and cotton ivory blouse by Temperley and her husband opted for a light-blue dress shirt.

The portrait, the first released of Will, Kate and George since the baby's christening in October, was taken through the window of their London residence, Apartment 1A at Kensington Palace.
