Who knew these two were famous friends?!

Miley Cyrus and Emma Roberts enjoyed a friendly sushi date on Wednesday in Studio City, Calif., where the pals hit up Kiwami, a popular Japanese restaurant.

"Miley comes into the restaurant all the time, a few times a week, she is a regular," a source exclusively tells E! News of the BFFs dinner outing, adding that "they came in around 7 p.m. and sat outside on the patio."

According to an eyewitness, the young stars came in "with two other girlfriends and stayed for a few hours" before they exited the eatery together.

The 21-year-old pop star was dressed casual (and covered up!) in a cream-colored sweater, which she paired with a large stack of gold bracelets on her wrists, while her 23-year-old new BFF wore a pale pink jacket and black top.

As for what the twosome noshed on during their dinner?

"[Miley] ordered lobster tempura," the insider said. "[She] loves lobster."

The two celebs were later seen attempting to hide from the prying paps while leaving the restaurant together in a car which was driven by a third party.

And while their friendship may seem new to many, a source tells E! News that the two have been pals for a while. "They even have engraved tables next to one another at Beacher's Madhouse."

Roberts previously costarred with Cyrus' former fiancé Liam Hemsworth in the 2013 film Empire State. She is currently engaged to her boyfriend of nearly two years and American Horror Story: Coven costar Evan Peters.

Meanwhile, Miley has been making headlines as she continues on her much-buzzed about Bangerz tour. She most recently performed in Atlanta, where she was snapped striking a very provocative pose while holding a microphone to her crotch in her barely-there marijuana-printed leotard.
