Despite previous sources saying that John Mayer and Katy Perry's split may not be permanent, it seems that the former lovebirds are indeed moving forward with their breakup.

Several movers were pictured at Perry's L.A.-area home, where they appeared to be transporting Mayer's belongings away from the pop star's pad.

A number of employees were seen loading large boxes into a moving truck parked outside of "Hot and Cold" singer's house while Perry observed from the driveway.

Understandably, the scene did not put a smile on the singer's face, who wore somber expression as she watched her former beau's possessions being packed away.

It's been one month since Perry pulled the plug on the pair's relationship, with a source telling E! News that the Prism singer's upcoming world tour was a big issue for the former lovebirds, who went public with their on-again, off-again romance in summer 2012 .

However, shortly after the split, a source told E! News that the pair may get back together once things calm down with their schedules, telling us, "They both really love each other. They've always been hot and cold and on and off."

Perry is booked solid from May until November after recently adding another leg of her tour, while Mayer is also scheduled for a worldwide tour from April to June.

But their busy schedules may not be all behind the duo's breakup, as another source later told us that the 29-year-old pop star felt for a while that something wasn't quite right between the pair.

Perry knew that there were certain differences in their personalities and, deep down, she suspected that she and Mayer were not right for each other, the insider said. It took time before she ultimately pulled the trigger, with the source saying it has been a relief for singer and she can now move on with her life.

The moving trucks certainly feel like a very permanent end to the onetime power couple's relationship, who not only recorded a sweet duet together, but were also at the center of engagement rumors for quite some time prior to their split, with the most recent being Perry's appearance at the Elle Style Awards in London in mid-February, where she was snapped with a stunning diamond sparker on that finger.

Last November, an insider also revealed that their romance had become "very serious" with friends even encouraging the twosome to tie the knot. "They are so perfect together," a source told E! News in adding that an engagement is "inevitable."

Neither Perry nor Mayer have yet to speak out about the breakup, although the "Roar" beauty posted one cryptic text shortly after calling it quits.

"The bad news: there is no key to the universe," she wrote. "The good news: it was never locked."
