The actress, who usually opts for a more natural effect, surprised everyone and went with a tomato red statement lip and thick black liner.
The women behind the look? Celebrity makeup artist Roxy Saffaie. E! News caught up with her during a brief break from Woodley's whirlwind promotional tour for the flick (which hits theaters today). Roxy dished on everything from the DIY tricks she's learned from Shailene to the exact lip color she used last night. What's your favorite look that you've created on Shailene so far?
So far, it's the look that I did for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (far right). Shailene is such a warrior, such a beautiful representation of a woman, and in that, I pulled from her strength as well as her softness to create that look. She was wearing a form-fitting leather dress, that was simple, sexy but still edgy—some of the traits that I see within her. So in a subtle, but still noticeable way, I made her skin glow with hydration and created an "edgy eye" not a smoky one. The difference being that with a smoky eye, there's more coverage and shadow that consumes the lid. With the edgy eye, we played more into the liner. It's not a super precise line, it's a smudgy one that I accentuated past her eye shape and "fogged" out while also blending some definition into her crease. It's sexy, earthy and very Shailene. I look at it and it makes me happy!
What beauty products does Shailene love?

Speaking of, Shailene talks a lot about her love of DIY beauty. Has she introduced you to any new, green ideas?
She has! We love to use olive oil to take off her eye makeup, and now it's something that I do on my own too. It actually nourishes the lash hair and the skin around the eye. It's a fail proof yet totally gentle way of removing eye makeup.
My personal favorite at-home remedy, which I've done for years, is mixing raw honey, raw coconut oil, and raw brown cane sugar, and using it as a lip scrub.
How would you describe Shailene's signature beauty look?
For her complexion, we lean more towards concealers and foundations—and tend not to incorporate powder. Mascaras are her absolute favorite. If there's one "Don't leave the house without it" product for an event, it's definitely going to be mascara. Eyeliner, not too much, but just enough to emphasize her gorgeous shape and color. For lips, she has a beautiful natural lip color—It's almost a soft rose pink, with a little bit of a flush—we keep them well hydrated with a natural lip balm.
We love her eyebrows! What's her secret?
A mascara wand with nothing on it and a few brush strikes to keep them upward. She has these naturally stunning eyebrows that don't need much. I'm always armed and ready to brush her brows by keeping a clear mascara wand in my pockets!
