Cameron Diaz's latest movie project, The Other Woman, is about a woman seeking revenge against her lover after finding out he's married.

But the bubbly blond actress says that the unbreakable bond the ladies have in the film is what initially intrigued her about the project.

"My statement is that I am actually not interested in making movies about men cheating on women; it's not at all what I am interested in," she explained to the British edition of OK! magazine.

"Everybody has been cheated on, everyone will be cheated on. I can't fix that, I don't know how, I don't have any judgment on anybody, I don't know how to fix the problem.

"We are human beings, we are complicated—you cannot go through life without tallying up a few scars, you cannot go through life unscathed, it's just what it is. It's all meant to happen, take your lessons, figure it out, move on."

The 41-year-old also dished that her girlfriends have gotten her through some of the darkest periods of her life.

"I exist for all my girlfriends. I am very, very, very fortunate; my friends are incredible and I am very lucky to have a lot of really solid, good friends—girlfriends and male friends—who I can just rely on," she said.

"We are tribal, we need our tribe—I have a bunch of little tribes all over the world that I pop to for a little bit of time, and then I move on and that's the great thing about being mobile; a lot of my friends have kids and they are stuck, planted in one place, and I kind of get to pop into all the different little tribes around the world and hang out for a little bit."

The Other Woman also stars Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Kate Upton, Nicki Minaj and Leslie Mann and is slated to hit theaters on April 25.
