We're still reeling in shock from the tragic news of designer L'Wren Scott's tragic apparent suicide this morning in her New York City apartment.

A close friend to Scott tells E! News, "Everyone is really shocked, there were no signs of depression, this has all come as a huge shock to everyone."

Mick Jagger's girlfriend was highly respected and loved among the fashion elite, with a long list of celebrity clients to her name.

Sarah Jessica Parker, Nicole Kidman, Angelina Jolie, Michelle Obama and Penélope Cruz were just a few of her famous fans, and the designer recently expanded her empire with successful collaborations with Banana Republic and Bobbi Brown to reach an even larger demographic.

Her creative talent was immeasurable and she certainly had an incredible eye for creating covetable and flattering items that even the most discerning ladies couldn't help but love.

Indeed it is sad day for us all.
