Miley Cyrus' latest tattoo had to be a painful process.
The 21-year-old took to Instagram to show off her fresh unique ink on Friday: a "sad kitty" on the inside of her lip.
The "Wrecking Ball" singer simply captioned one snapshot with the emoji icon that undoubtedly inspired the design. Cyrus is staring straight at the camera as she pulls down her bottom lip to reveal the bright yellow cat shedding a single blue tear.
Cyrus offered a close-up look in another photograph and wrote, "#sadkitty #f--kyeahtulsa @waynewontpostpicsofnakedwomen @katyweaver #lovemoneyparty #freakz."
While she is showing no signs of any discomfort from the procedure, Cyrus did post a Twitpic of herself with a washcloth covering her face earlier in the day.
The last time the Bangerz beauty showed off some new ink was in November.
Cyrus confirmed at the time that the tattoo is of her grandmother, also known as "mammie," after a fan tweeted the star asking whom the portrait was of on her right forearm.
The starlet also wrote as a caption to the photograph, "because I am her favorite & she is mine."
The image, which was done by Kat Von D, shows her grandmother's face and neck and fades just before getting to her right wrist.
