Lady Gaga has landed in hot, er, water over her latest onstage stunt.

The "Applause" singer was vomited on by performance artist Millie Brown during her concert at the SXSW Festival in Austin last night. Fans and critics of Mother Monster became outraged (not to mention completely grossed out) at her latest, shocking antics.

But aside from being startled by Millie and Gaga's collaboration, many are wondering if the "Applause" singer was glorifying bulimia.

After all, the 27-year-old songstress has spoken publically about her struggles with eating disorders in the past—including suffering from bulimia and anorexia since she was a teenager.

In 2012 she posted a revealing photo of herself wearing only a bra and underwear on LittleMonsters.com.

She tweeted to her fans to "join A BODY REVOLUTION," and captioned the pic "Bulimia and anorexia since I was 15."

And just last month she opened up in Harper's Bazaar about how she's since overcome her body image issues.

"I am better with food. I don't have an eating disorder anymore," she admitted.

During her SXSW keynote speech Friday morning, she was immediately asked about what inspired her to include the vomiting in her concert.

Twitter

"I've known Millie for I think like five years now and we've actually collaborated before…she was just in town and so we thought we would collaborate again," she told the audience.

"It was just exciting to see people talk about performance art on the internet. We really just did it because we believe in the performance and we believe in what it meant to the song."

And amid all the puking panic, it seems as though Gaga is moving forward and focusing on her next big career move: her forthcoming music video.

She posted a revealing (and yet totally confusing) picture from the video on her website and wrote, "New Lady Gaga Video Next Saturday #iAmArtpop."
