Jamie Dornan is more than just a really pretty face.

The Fifty Shades of Grey star opened up to The Evening Standard about taking on his latest role, how he romances his wife, and why he started his career in the modeling world.

The 31-year-old hunk also admitted that dating Keira Knightley helped prepare him for fame.

"It was a strange environment to find yourself in, being hounded and followed. It's really hideous," he told the paper. "That scrutiny when you're older will be easier to take. And I don't think I'm ever going to be as famous as her."

Hmmm…we wouldn't bet money on that one, Jamie.

Jamie also confessed that he "never felt massively satisfied from standing there" while someone takes his photograph, despite being featured in countless modeling campaigns.

"It's never given me a thrill, [but] it would take a very foolish man to turn down the stuff that was offered to me. You're in your twenties, and people are going to give you a silly amount of money to lean against a wall with your head down. F--k me, you've got to do it."

And just before landing the highly anticipated role of Christian Grey, Jamie was working tirelessly to get a part in the BBC 2 series The Fall.

And after a "really brutal" six-hour audition, he got the job.

"I wasn't who people were thinking of for the part. Right from the start the writer had this underlying belief that I was the guy, and I'm massively thankful to him for that," he said.

"I feel like I f--king earned it. I worked my d--k off for that role."

But it's his next role that will undoubtedly skyrocket him into a new level of fame.

And while many may be waiting on the edge of their seats to see him on the big screen next year, some of his friends aren't as eager.

"A friend of mine said, 'I heard about Fifty Shades. Congratulations on that role. That's going to be disgusting. I won't watch it,'" Jamie shared.

Aside from oodles of fans of the erotic books, Jamie's wife, Amelia Warner, is said to be extremely supportive of his risky career move.

Mr. Grey and Mr. Dornan are two very different people, however, and he explained that he's actually pretty romantic in real life.

"I don't know what the template is or what the parameters are," he said. "But I think I'm pretty decent at all that kind of stuff."

Swoon!
