Adam Levine and Blake Shelton's bromance has been through a lot, but never anything like this.

During Wednesday's Chelsea Lately, the Maroon 5 singer complimented Chelsea Handler on her potty mouth, prompting the Uganda Be Kidding Me author to joked about Levine's relationship with Shelton.

"You're loose with the language on this show," the Voice coach told Handler. "That's awesome."

"I know," the comedienne replied. "I don't really care."

"That's great because I have to not curse on our show, which f--king blows," Levine said. "It's so nice to say that...I think it's really important to be able to say those words because you emphasize things. F--k! I think it's actually a good usage of the word...I mean it every time I say it. God dammit, I respect you."

Levine later told Handler, "I heard you just told Piers Morgan to f--k off, which is awesome. I'm super impressed by you, lately." He then said he doesn't have the "courage" to be "as honest" as Handler is.

Handler argued that Levine is equally forthcoming. "You're in love with Blake Shelton. You're not scared to admit that," she joked. "You guys have been dating for what, two and a half years now? That's beautiful."

"We're having some sexual problems, though," Levine deadpanned. The "Love Somebody" singer then joked that the country singer (who is married to Miranda Lambert) struggles to get it up, saying, "He drinks a lot so...It's a problem. But it's fine. He's okay. We'll be all right. We'll figure it out somehow."

"That's why we get along, Miranda and I, so well, because we have so much to talk about," he added.

How does Levine see himself as a coach on The Voice? "I think I'm way better than Blake. That goes without saying," he teased. "All jokes aside, he is a really good coach. We all are good coaches."

(E! and The Voice are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
