Prince Charles Passes, but Ben Kingsley, Joan Collins and More Recreate Ellen's Oscars Selfie—Did Anyone Drop a Boob?!

Prince Charles apparently wasn't interested in following the selfie steps of Brad Pitt and Bradley Cooper, let alone The Simpsons and various Lego figures.

Armed with a smart phone, Joan Collins rangled a number of fellow U.K.-born celebs into recreating Ellen DeGeneres' A-list-packed Oscars selfie today at the Prince's Trust and Samsung Celebrate Success Awards.

But while the likes of Luke Evans, Sir Ben Kingsley, Dominic West and Jeremy Irons joined in, even Alexis Carrington herself couldn't seduce the Prince of Wales into participating.

Charles posed for regular photos with the group, but an eyewitness told the Daily Mail that he appeared to politely decline Collins' entreaty to get silly.

The Dynasty star took on the role of Bradley Cooper herself, but her arms could only extend so far and the pic that she duly tweeted afterward was really more of a picture of her and Kingsley being photobombed by West and Evans. (Though how about Sir Ben's smoldering gaze?!)

Happily, plenty of photographers were on hand to capture Collins' effort. (And Cooper should feel much better about the perfectly normal length of his arms.)

Collins' "'Selfie' support" post, in which she tags everyone in the photo who's on Twitter (and then some), has since been retweeted 240 times, so she has a ways to go before reaching Ellen's photo-retweet record. (Though Twitter did break for a while yesterday...)

Despite no one "dropping a boob," as Jennifer Lawrence suggested someone do, the Oscars selfie has been retweeted more than 3.2 million times. Its all-star cast included DeGeneres, Cooper, J.Law, Julia Roberts, Channing Tatum, Meryl Streep, Jared Leto, Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Kevin Spacey, Lupita Nyong'o and her lucky brother Peter.

Yeah, maybe someone should have dropped a boob. Or at least wait for Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart to be in town.
