This Game of Thrones Hip-Hop Mixtape Is Obviously What Your Life Has Been Missing

Music is coming.

Game of Thrones fans are currently counting down the hours, minutes and seconds until the smash premium cable series returns for its highly anticipated season four debut. However, we've got news about something that will definitely help pass time before the high-stakes, April 6 premiere.

HBO has teamed up with some of the music industry's top artists to produce the first ever Game of Thrones mixtape, cheekily entitled Catch The Throne: The Mixtape. Big named artists such as Wale, Big Boi, Common and Daddy Yankee, have collected their shared talents to bring us exclusive songs that are inspired by some of Game of Thrones' most dynamic storylines from the first three seasons.

"We are excited to create an additional fan touch point with Catch The Throne: The Mixtape," HBO's SVP of Multicultural Marketing , Lucinda Martinez, said in a statement Wednesday morning. "This is a unique opportunity to give fans great original music and an innovative way to highlight the electrifying Game of Thrones series."

The mixtape, which will be released at the upcoming Game of Thrones exhibition at the SXSW festival on Friday, March 7, will feature ten songs with a hip-hop and reggaeton feel. Each of the artists included on this new project are huge GoT fans and wanted to "create songs that encourage and inspire listeners" as well as give viewers a musical refresher on the series before the season four premiere.

Game of Thrones premieres Sunday, April 6 on HBO.
