Kevin Spacey had a good reason for not attending any Oscars after-parties, and it turns out that Gwyneth Paltrow isn't one of them!

Rumors went into overdrive that the actor was a no-show at the Vanity Fair bash because he was siding with the actress in the midst of her highly publicized feud with the monthly publication.

But a rep for the House of Cards star says that's simply not the case.

It turns out that Spacey, who was in Los Angeles to take Jimmy Kimmel's Oscars special, had to head to Palm Springs immediately after he taped the show—giving him no time to hobnob with Hollywood's elite.

Spacey had already committed to be at Will Ferrell's Cancer for College charity event in Palm Springs, which works to raise college scholarships for cancer survivors.

Spacey participated in a fundraising tournament, known as the Will Powered Golf Classic, at Bighorn Golf Club on Monday in the wee hours of the morning.

"He cares about the kids who have survived cancer, and that is the reason he did not attend any of the post-Oscar parties, not even the one that his producing partner threw for Captain Phillips, a film he is extremely proud to be a part of that was nominated for six Academy Awards," Spacey's rep told Gossip Cop.

"His sole priority that night after the show was to help the young students whose lives have been changed for the better through this charity."

The spokesperson added that Spacey "wasn't even aware of the issues that have been reported between Gwyneth Paltrow and Vanity Fair."
