Matthew McConaughey and Cate Blanchett both won an Academy Award Sunday--him for Best Actor in a leading role, her for Best Actress in a leading role.

And after the 2014 Oscars, E! News chatted with the Dallas Buyers Club star and Blue Jasmine thesp about how much their awards meant.

"Nobody's asked me to hold [my Oscar]," said McConaughey, whose co-star Jared Leto was letting everyone strike a pose with his golden award. "Maybe they can tell I like it! I'm not gonna be passing it around."

The 44-year-old actor of three was fortunate he has "a lot of stories to tell [and] a lot of people to thank"—including his fellow nominees. "The amount of good will among the artists is one thing that I was inspired by," he said of this year's award season. "It's like, yeah, you can compete for an award and still really appreciate—sincerely appreciate—what someone else did."

And Blanchett, 44, was also feeling the love from her fellow actors, including Best Supporting Actress nominee Julia Roberts, who joined her 'in the bar for rather too long," causing her to "get back to my seat [just] in time [to accept the Oscar]."

"The blessing and the curse of this is that it happens at the ass end of the evening, and you watch so many other extraordinary people get up there and you lose track of the fact that you're even nominated," said Blanchett, "and then you get taken by surprise! It's my turn!"

Well, Blanchett's speech turned out alright, alright, alright!
