The 12 Years a Slave star, who turned 31 on Saturday, celebrated with an Independent Spirit Award win and a star-studded pre-Oscar bash. And of course, cake!
Nyong'o, along with co-stars Brad Pitt and his longtime love Angelina Jolie, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael Fassbender, director Steve McQueen attended a Grey Goose hosted dinner at Sunset Tower. The birthday girl's whole family was also on hand for the festivities.
"Birthday surprise from the #12YearsASlave family. Feeling the love. #Oscars," she captioned an adorable snapshot on her Instagram account.
The delicious gluten-free treat was from bakery Sweet Lady Jane.
Nyong'o looked elegant in a Jonathan Cohen lipstick-patterned dress with matching red pumps.
As for Brangelina, an inside source tells E! News that "Angie looked gorgeous per usual. She and Brad were adorable and talked to everyone!"
The source continued that Pitt and Fassbender were smoking cigarettes together poolside at the dinner.
The longtime lovebirds were the first to leave, but another source added they "stayed for a nice amount of time."
After all, it is important to rest up before the biggest night of the year in Tinseltown.
