The Flash is here, ladies and gentlemen. Above, get your first look at  Grant Gustin in costume as The Flash for The CW's new pilot about the Scarlett Speedster.

In the pilot, Gustin plays the DC Comics character Barry Allen, a scientist who is given super speed after a freak accident. Gustin played the character on The CW's Arrow opposite Stephen Amell. "He comes in and he kills it. He's wonderful," Amell said of Gustin in November. "He really takes ownership of the role. Just in terms of adding dynamic elements to the show, Grant is a really, really welcome and needed addition because he's so good."

Oscar winner Colleen Atwood, the same designer for Arrow, designed the Flash costume. Atwood's credits include Alice in Wonderland, Memoirs of a Geisha and Chicago.

Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and David Nutter, all of Arrow fame, will executive produce. Nutter is directing the pilot with a script from Berlanti, Kreisberg and DC Comics' Geoff Johns. The Flash pilot also stars Candice Patton, Rick Cosnett, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes, Tom Cavanagh and Jesse L. Martin. The star of the 1990s Flash TV show John Wesley Shipp will also appear in the pilot.

Production on The Flash begins this week.
