Fern Jelleyman had been down on her luck following a series of unfortunate events.
"My boyfriend left, I had to move out of our home and find somewhere else to live unfortunately, my boss went bankrupt and I lost my job," the aspiring fashion stylist said in a video for Vidal Sassoon. "I really want to be a part of the fashion world, but, I really don't feel like anyone takes me seriously."
Jelleyman is also dyslexic and finds it difficult to express herself at work because of it.
Nevertheless, she wants to work for a fashion company and learn everything there is to know about the biz.
To make her days a little brighter and help that dream become a possibility, her friend submitted her to a contest for a Vidal Sassoon makeover at London Fashion week, and not too long afterward, Jelleyman headed there to meet her stylist.
The Vidal Sassoon team whipped her into shape, using Cover Girl cosmetics and their own hair products to transform her into a true fashionista.
She was also treated to a photo shoot in the streets of London, where she unveiled her gorgeous new red locks.
Not only did she get a makeover, but she got the opportunity of a lifetime when an editor took her to a fashion show and offered her a gig.
