From vampire to shapeshifter!

Nathaniel Buzolic, best known for playing the devious Kol on The Vampire Diaries, has been cast as the lead in the CW's highly anticipated Supernatural spinoff, Tribes, E! News has confirmed.

Yes, that's two of TV's most passionate fanbases colliding right there. Go on, take your time to process the awesome.

Also set to star in the highly anticipated new project for the network is Episodes star Lucien Laviscount. (Just take a moment to bask in the picture above. Too much hotness for one show to handle? Discuss!)

Buzolic, who will next be seen on ABC Family's Pretty Little Liars, will take on the role of David Hayden, a shapeshifter from one of Chicago's ruling monster families. While he's been living as a human for a long time, he'll return to the supernatural (get it?) after a tragedy.

After making his debut on The Vampire Diaries as the Original vampire Kol, Klaus' younger, trouble-causing brother in season three, the Australian actor quickly became a favorite amongst fans of the CW hit.

Laviscount, who also appeared on the UK version of Skins, will play Ennis Roth, a police academy trainee who learns the truth about what lurks in the shadows after his fiancée is killed in the crossfire of Chicago's monster war, which leads to him becoming a monster-hunter himself. (Hmm...sound familiar, Supernatural fans?)

Executive produced by Supernatural's Eric Kripke, Jeremy Carver, Robert Singer and written by Andrew Dabb, Tribes is a sweeping drama about the various mafia-esque monster families that run the underbelly of Chicago, unbeknownst to the humans. They are threatened when one human, newly-minted hunter Ennis, decides to rid the city of all things supernatural.

Supernatural: Tribes cast will be introduced in the 20th episode of the season, set to air on April 29.

The CW announced last week that Supernatural has been picked up for a 10th season, along with The Vampire Diaries, Arrow, Reign and The Originals .
