Looking good is the best revenge—just ask Jessica Simpson!

The 33-year-old mom of two is surely silencing the body critics in her newest Weight Watchers ad, in which she flaunts her sexy, slimmed-down post-baby body in a hot little black dress. But on Monday's Good Morning America, Jess admitted to being "so insecure" about the weight she gained during her pregnancies.

"I couldn't even believe what I weighed," she said."I don't think that I ever expected myself to see the numbers that I have seen on the scale."

That doesn't mean, though, that she thinks any woman should be ashamed of the changes her body goes through while expecting. "You are creating a life, and honestly it's not easy," she said. "It is a really hard thing to go through. And you deserve to eat your ice cream, you deserve to have your pancakes. Do whatever you want to do and then afterwards just know that you have to work really hard."

"My first pregnancy I ate a lot more," said Jessica, who gave birth to daughter Maxwell in May 2012 and welcomed son Ace Knute seven months ago. "But my second pregnancy I ate enough. Like, I ate what I wanted to eat, but I stayed active and I think because I had gained so much weight with my first that I had to stay active throughout my second because I didn't know what to do with myself if I didn't."

Now, as Jessica says in her new Weight Watchers ad, it feels "really good" to be back to her slimmed-down size. "My body, like my life, is a work in progress."

And thanks to the healthy lifestyle plan Jessica's been following, she will sure look great when she, "soon enough" says  "I do" to fiancé Eric Johnson.

But looking great in a wedding dress is far from Jessica's only goal. "I want to sing again," she said. "I want my daughter to see me on stage. My fiancé has never even watched me perform—which is crazy...but that is my passion, that is my love, like, that is everything that I am."
