TwitterSpotting a model eating backstage is like having a monarch butterfly land on your shoulder.
It's a rare, beautiful moment and it only lasts an instant.
And so when host of Fashion Police Joan Rivers spotted a waiter serving models at the Elie Tahari presentation on Tuesday, she took to Twitter with what might be the funniest NYFW tweet of the season.
"A waiter at the @elietahari presentation feeding the models. On the menu: hot water with just a hint of arugula," she tweeted.
Okay, so the models weren't exactly eating. In fact, there wasn't even any arugula in the cups. It was just water.
But it's not like models can chow down on a burger in the middle of a fashion presentation even if they wanted to! They do stand for very long hours, so waiters will come by to make sure they're hydrated.
And the models looked pretty adorable sippin' on Dixie cups, dressed in Elie Tahari's gorgeous outerwear. The designer's collection was actually one of our favorites of the season.
Joan is a huge fan of the designer and has been wearing his clothes for years, so of course she came out to support him. And of course she had to spice things up with a hilarious tweet or two.
