The Big Bang Theory will likely move to another night when it returns to CBS this fall. Why? To make room for NFL's Thursday night games on CBS. At this point, a renewal announcement for The Big Bang Theory is just a formality.

CBS Chairman Les Moonves said The Big Bang Theory won't be delayed until November after Thursday Night Football ends, rather it and its other Thursday night brethren will likely return in a different timeslot during regular premiere week.

"We're not going to wait until November," Moonves said on an earnings call, according to Deadline. CBS's Elementary will also likely move to a differnet night. "It'll be on some other night."

CBS will air eight Thursday night NFL games this fall. It beat the other major broadcast networks in a bid for the Thursday game package.

"Everyone was aggressive," Brian Rolapp, NFL's executive vice president of media, said. "We chose CBS given its reach and commitment to promote NFL Network."

CBS has yet to officially give The Big Bang Theory the greenlight for a new season, but it's a safe bet that TV's No. 1 comedy will return for an eighth season. Request for comment from CBS was not immediately returned.
